I bought this metal floral cone from Michael’s back in March and it was pink. It was perfect for the spring floral arrangement I made. But that was it. I didn’t really have a use for it after that. So instead of storing it, I gave it new life with some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Provence and dark wax and turned it into a fall project!
I didn’t strip it, sand it or use primer. I just wiped off the dust and started painting. I used two coats of Provence and after that was completely dry (I waited about 4 hours), I gave it a light coat of clear wax and let it sit overnight.
The next morning, I covered it with a thin coat of dark wax, rubbing the wax into the details to give it that distressed, antiqued look and then wiped off the excess wax with a rag.
I picked up an artificial fall floral arrangement at Michael’s and put it in the cone. That was it!
I just love the orange and yellow against the aqua color, don’t you?
