This is an amazing holiday season for my family. This is Ryan and my first Christmas as a married couple, our first year as a family in this house, and my first Christmas as a stay-at-home mom since Sophie was a baby. One of my favorite things about this Christmas is that I get to make homemade gifts again, something I love and could never do when I was working full-time and a single mom. Talk about a blessing.
This year, I’m making homemade soap, strawberry jam, pumpkin bread, peppermint foot scrub, and mustard. I found an awesome mustard recipe from Prudent Living and thought it would be the perfect addition to the holiday baskets that I’m making for my grandmothers, mom, step-mom, mother-in-law, and sisters-in-law. I’ve also included some personalized coffee mugs that Sophie made. The baskets aren’t quite finished, but they’re getting closer!
My goal this Christmas is to be present. The holidays are usually spent running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Living 3 hours away from our families, you can imagine the logistics required to make Christmas happen for everyone. I’m so glad that this year we are staying home, we get to focus on our family, and that our extended families are so understanding of our choice.
So how is your decorating/shopping/planning going?
