Do you remember when I went to my favorite junkin store up the road and bought a couple of lanterns for $5 a piece? It was the best money I ever spent. I painted one black, the other one, this one, I decked out for Christmas. It took a little elbow grease to clean out the dirt, but in the end, it was totally worth it. It’s a super simple project for the holidays–fill it with pinecones, berries and evergreen branches, wrap the bottom in burlap ribbon, and create a focal point using a tiny pine cone, more little branches and berries. Here’s what you need:
Artificial berries and evergreen branches (Michaels)
Hot glue gun
Fill the empty lantern with pine cones, berries and evergreen branches.
2. Wrap the bottom of the lantern with 1/2″ burlap ribbon and secure it with the hot glue gun in the back. Once that is in place, go ahead and add the branches, berries and little pine cone with your hot glue gun.
Once the glue dries, you can add it to your Christmas decorations! Take a look!
