I know what you’re thinking. Finger paint?! No. Way. But this isn’t like the finger paint that gets all over everything. This one is so simple and so easy and the clean-up is a breeze. The ‘fingerpaint’ is actually DecoArt Metallic Lustre. You can find it at Hobby Lobby or Michaels in the paint section and honestly, I think I had more fun with it than Sophie did.
You just put a little on your finger, paint on a surface like this little paper mache trinket boxand get this–it dries almost instantly and wipes clean with a baby wipe.
Awesome, right? I got the chance to try it out last year at the Haven DIY Conference in Atlanta and I thought it was the coolest stuff. I really wish I had known about it sooner.
It took about 5 minutes to finger paint this little heart-shaped paper mache and maybe another 5 minutes for the whole thing to dry. It’s a great craft to do in the classroom, at daycare or just at home on a snow day. For more fun Valentine’s Day craft ideas, click here! For more activities for kids, click here.
