Hi friends! I hope everyone is doing well! Life has slowed down around here a little bit, so I wanted to pop in and share a great wreath with you. Even though the 4th of July has come and gone, there’s never a bad time to show off your American pride, especially in the summer months. So I took some extra red, white and blue deco mesh I had and created a fun and patriotic deco mesh wreath for my front porch!
But before we get started, I wanted to share some very exciting news! You may remember me mentioning my friend Brooke from the blog Re-Fabbed. She is a great friend, she used to be my neighbor and now she has built Re-Fabbed into an amazing brand. Well, she’s hosting Re-Fabbed Live, a live event in Nashville, TN and has invited me to be a part of it! Come join us, make some super fun holiday projects together with a group of 50 like-minded creatives and DIYers of every skill level. There will be lots of prizes and giveaways too–definitely an event you want to go to. [Click Here for More Info]
Ok, back to the wreath! If you have ever wanted to try deco mesh, I say go for it! With the right supplies, you can definitely put together an adorable wreath. You’ll definitely need to get a working wreath which looks like a wire wreath form with pipe cleaners attached to it. I found mine at Walmart. Hobby Lobby and Michaels also carry them.
Working wreath (Walmart)
Red, white and blue deco mesh roll (Hobby Lobby)
Ribbon (Hobby Lobby)
American Flags (Walmart)
Make a ‘pouff’ of any size with the deco mesh, then pinch it and wrap the wire holders around it until tightly secured.
Repeat this with the deco mesh around the entire wreath.
Fluff up the deco mesh poufs. Then repeat with whatever ribbon you would like to use. Add whatever embellishments you want to your wreath and it’s ready to hang!
