March is upon us! That means that spring and St. Patrick’s Day are right around the corner. St. Patrick’s Day is a fun holiday so the decorations and crafts should be too! I saw this frame at Michaels and thought it would be perfect for a fun and different St. Patrick’s Day ‘wreath’. It was easy to make and didn’t take long at all! Here’s what you need:
8 x 10 wooden shabby picture frame, unfinished
8″ wooden letter
1/2 yd. of fabric (you won’t even need that, but I wanted some leftover)
Krylon semi-gloss black spray paint
Optional–ribbon for hanging
Remove the back of the picture frame. Cut your fabric to fit the back of the frame, leaving about 1/2″ to 1″ extra on each side to fold over and glue to the back.
With your glue gun, attach the fabric to the backing of the frame.
Spray paint the frame and letter. When they are painted and dry, put the frame back together and attach the letter to the center of the frame with your hot glue gun.
I had some extra fabric left over so I made two strips with pinking sheers–the patterned one was 2″ x 4″ and the white fabric strip was 3″ x 5″. I pinched it in the center with ribbon, glued it in back and attached it to the frame.
Make a loop out of ribbon at the top of the frame for hanging, glue to the back and your picture frame wreath is done!
