Welcome to 2018! I hope that everyone had a safe and fun New Year’s Eve last night. We have so much on our list of things to do today at the Drane house. Put away Christmas decorations, pull out some January decorations, because I can’t stand going from a fully decorated house to nothing. I don’t do anything over the top, just a few fresh winter decorations here and there to keep the house looking a little festive while we muck through the first few months of the new year.
With the kiddos going back to school on Wednesday, it’s also time to get backpacks cleaned out and packed, clothes washed and sleep schedules back to normal.
Most importantly for us this year, is getting back on track with our finances. After reading Total Money Makeover and completing Financial Peace University a few years ago, Ryan and I were committed to becoming debt-free, but fell off of the wagon after we welcomed 3 babies back to back.
We got tired, we got busy, we got unfocused and it has taken ups forever to get back on track. But this is a new year! And to help stay motivated I have created a new page on the blog called Financial Peace Family where I am sharing all of the money saving tips, recipes and tools that we are using to get out of debt. I’m also sharing some encouragement along the way so that we can all stay motivated as we live like no one else so that we can live like no one else. I hope that you find it really helpful!
Last year wasn’t a very notable year for Fun Home Things. What can I say, life happened. But I am looking forward to sharing some new, awesome content with you and reconnecting with you! Thanks for sticking with me after almost 6 years! Happy New Year!
