I’ve been using the same hot chocolate mix recipe for about 10 years now but honestly, I was never super impressed with it. I just kept using it because I thought that was how they all tasted. Then Rachel from Adventures of a DIY Mom posted her recipe last Christmas and I noticed one ingredient that I had never tried before–chocolate pudding mix. What a difference! So I dumped my recipe and now use an adapted version of hers.
And the best part–homemade hot chocolate mix makes a great teacher gift, especially since it’s easy enough for kids to make. Here’s what you need:
1 large box instant chocolate pudding mix
4 c. Nesquik powder
10 c. powdered milk
2/3 c. powdered sugar
Mix together all ingredients in a large bowl. Store in an air tight container.
Use 1/4 c. mix to 1 c. hot water.
