If you’ve followed this blog for any length of time, you know my porch is my baby. Porches are a big deal in the South–I grew up in a house with a big porch and now I am so thankful to have one of my own. It’s one of the things that made me fall in love with this house. Not only do they make great outdoor living spaces, but it’s a place where our family, neighbors and friends gather. So I like to make mine feel as cozy and welcoming as possible.
Last spring. I kept the decor fresh but simple. This year, I added a new rug, an antique door, and more greenery. I can’t wait to spend lots of time out here in the coming weeks. Take a look and let me know what you think!
Recognize the grey table? A few months ago it was painted red for the Christmas porch. All it took was a coat of AS Chalk Paint in Paris Grey and 1 coat of clear wax and my little thrift store table was transformed for a second time.
A great tip that I learned at Haven Conference last year was to buy pillow covers and down or down alternative inserts instead of investing in new throw pillows every season. Not only do they keep their shape better than polyfill pillows, but pillow covers are much easier to store and clean and can easily transform the look of a space.
