As soon as interior barn doors started getting popular, I knew I wanted to jump on the bandwagon. Not only did they fit perfectly with the style of my living room, but I had the perfect opening for them to go on:
Pretty bland, right? We had originally planned on putting crown moulding around the entrance to the hall, but I liked the idea of barn doors better. Not only would it be more dramatic, but it would also act as a sound barrier to the kids’ end of the house. The best part–my friend Shara (check out her blog here) could make them. She is so talented. She and I met through our mutual friend Brooke and I’m so glad we did! All 3 of us have different talents and areas of expertise which makes for some really great collaborations.
So Shara and her husband Danny came over last Saturday and got it all installed for us.
Here’s what these beautiful doors look like now:
Handmade. American made. Kentucky made. Girl made. It doesn’t get much better than that! Didn’t she do a great job?
