Sophie is at that fun age now where she wants to help out a lot in the kitchen. And I love it. I gave her a few recipes to choose from for Easter and the Rice Krispie Treat Bird’s Nest was the winner! It’s an easy recipe to make with kids and it doesn’t take long at all. Here’s what you need:
3 Tbsp butter
5 1/2 c. mini marshmallows
6 c. Rice Krispies
Reese’s Peanut Butter eggs
Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies.
Butter the bottom of a muffin tin. When the Rice Krispie treat mix is cool enough to touch, spoon it into the cupcake tin and press down the center, shaping it into a nest. Allow to cool completely.
Place 2-3 Reese’s Peanut Butter eggs in each nest.
Spoon the nests out of the muffin tin and they’re ready to serve!
