It was a busy weekend for our family! I went to my doctor’s appointment on Friday morning expecting to hear the same thing I had heard for the last couple of weeks–no change–only to find out that Emerson was ready to be here! We were sent to the hospital and she was born Friday night, Sept. 6th, weighing 6 lbs 14 oz, and was 21 inches long.
To say that we are in love with this little baby would be the understatement of the year. She is so precious and I am enjoying every single minute with her. And Sophie can’t get enough of her little sister. She has been such a great helper and is telling everyone she meets about little Emerson.
Now I know that most of you don’t live in Western KY, but if you do and you’re having a baby, I can’t say enough good things about Lourdes. We had chosen Western Baptist initially but it was full so we were sent to Lourdes. I had a great experience. The birthing center is really nice and it was so comfortable and quiet.
And I’ve got to give a shout out to Jessie and Rhonda, they are phenomenal L&D nurses. And Victoria, one of the nursery nurses, who was so nice and informative and took great care of Emerson. I wish I could remember more names because everyone who cared for us was awesome.
So needless to say, life is good in the Drane house. She’s sleeping well, eating well, and we’re all just so crazy about her. What a blessing.
