Strawberry Streusel Skillet Biscuits…try saying that 5 times fast! This is one of those recipes that I made on accident. I had a bunch of random ingredients in my fridge that needed to be used, so I combined them all and this is what happened. It’s rare that experimental recipes work out for me, but this one is really good. My family loves it for breakfast. It makes a great dessert too. Here’s what you need:
2 tubes of Pillsbury Crescent Rounds or 1 tube of Jumbo biscuits
1 pint of strawberries, cut into pieces
1/2 to 1 package of strawberry glaze (Totally a matter of preference. I use the whole package:)
3 Tbsp butter
1/3 c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. butter, room temperature
In a small bowl, make streusel topping by mixing together brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside.
Melt 3 Tbsp. butter in a cast iron skillet over low heat.
Once melted, place Crescent Rounds or biscuits in skillet.
Scatter strawberries over biscuits and cover with strawberry glaze.
Top with streusel and bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the biscuits comes out clean.
Allow 5 minutes to cool and then it’s ready to serve! Enjoy!
