This summer is already turning into a super busy time for my family. Between all of Sophie’s activities, visiting family out-of-town, and preparing for a new baby, meals and snacks need to be quick, easy on the budget, but still kid-approved and filling. They also needs to satisfy some serious preggo cravings:) Thanks to Velveeta Shells and Cheese, I have all of my bases covered!
For a snack, I like my shells and cheese plain. But for a quick and savory side dish, I like mixing shells and cheese with bacon. It’s a great addition to just about any summer entree from hamburgers and hot dogs to chicken or steak. It’s also my favorite dish to take to all the church pot lucks, picnics, and family get-togethers we get invited to during the summer.
Here’s how to make it:
1 box Velveeta Shells and Cheese
8 strips of fully cooked bacon, prepared and chopped
Prepare shells according to the package. Drain and add the cheese packet. Mix well.
In a 1 1/2 quart baking dish, mix Velveeta Shells and Cheese with chopped bacon.
That’s it, your delicious side dish is served! You can find Velveeta Shells and Cheese at your local Walmart store, that’s where I purchased mine. To check out pics from my shopping trip, click here.
